Deaconess Gloria Askins, Secretary to Presiding Prelate

Deaconess Gloria J. McCoy, daughter of Redmond Crudup and the late Lucretia Anderson, born June 26, 1964 in Newport News, VA. She was raised in a Christina home by her mother, a devoted woman of God who taught her in the ways of the Lord and saw to it that she developed character, poise and love of God from an early age. As a child she attended the Mt. Calvary FBH Church of God of the Americas under the leadership of the Reverend J. W. Sellers, and later joined the Strait Gate Church under the leadership of Bishop Jerome Rogers, in Hampton, Virginia.

She graduate from Surry County High School in Dendron, VA as an Honor Student in 1983 and continued her education at the Thomas Nelson CC in Hampton, VA where she majored in computer technology and Kee Business College of Newport News, where she pursued a certificate of completion as an Executive Secretary. She is currently enrolled at Strayer University, pursuing a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and hopes to complete her studies by Dec. 2009.

Deaconess McCoy is married to Brother Vincent McCoy. They have 4 children and 7 grandchildren. She is currently employed at the Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland in the Department of Anesthesia where she serves as the Administrative Coordinator for the Obstetric, Regional Anesthesia & Acute Pain Division, as well as serving as the Interim Fellowship Program Coordinator for the Cardiac Anesthesia Division. In her spare time, Deaconess McCoy owns and operates a home based business with the Traci-Lynn Fashion Jewelry Company (www.tracilynnjewelry.com/gloriamccoy).

Deaconess McCoy has been a member of the First Church of Faith, Power and Deliverance since March of 1998 where she serves as Deaconess, President of the Pulpit Attendants Unit, choir member, Assistant Christian Education Superintendent, and is member of the leadership committee.

In October 2008, by special appointment, Deaconess McCoy was appointed by Bishop Tindal as the Personal Executive Secretary to the Presiding Prelate of the United Fellowship of Christian Churches and Ministries Worldwide. She serves in this capacity with distinction and excellence.

Of her many accomplishments nothing makes her more proud than to confess that she is saved, and a born again believer, and she's striving to make heaven her home.
